Also the 2nd Livr. is said "paraîtra au mois de novembre"
But in the Dec. no. of Rev.Zool. Des Murs refers to the 1st
livr. as published in November. Either a lapsus for August or September
or an allusion to the pattern of delay of appearance of the monthly numbers.
- Livr. 1 4to 7 feuilles (leaves) (also in folio 13½ feuilles).
Noticed in the Bib. Fr. Nov. 15, 1845.

Illustrations of Ornithology, new series.
Reissue of parts 1-9 of the above (which was in 10 parts).
1837-1843.
The dates of issue here are the subject of some controversy.
Zimmer gives dates:
Pt.1 1837
Pt.2 1837
Pt.3 1837
Pt.4 1838
Pt.5 1839
Pt.6 1839 (?1840)

Pt.8 1842
Pt.9 1843
Publication of Jardine & Selby's Illustrations of Ornithology New Series
- Sherborn Note: every plate is dated and the plates and dates follow a regular progressive pattern.
- Sherborn's Dates, and the data collected by CWR are not fully concordant, as the notes below demonstrate.
- CWR notes: "2nd Series in numbers, each containing 6 plates coloured. (both imp.4to. and roy.4to.)"
- APP notes: The plate count per number does not seem consistent, with 12 plates in the first number &c. Also
CWR refers both to "No's" and "Parts" and I presume these are equivalent.

'The wrappers of Nos. IX., X., XI are different in
design to those of the other parts. The title page,
which was issued in Part XII., is dated " 1832," which
is the date usually accepted for the whole work. The
authorship of the species is usually credited to Vigors,
but as no authority for such treatment is evident from
the wrappers or the book itself, I prefer to quote
them as of Lear.'

[ dates of vol. 2 are a problem 1837 vs 1838
CWR -> vol.2 no.2 entries: "not earlier than May 13 . 1837"

Edward C. Dickinson has examined the first two volumes in detail. He writes (2004.09.22):
The issues have the following pagination. After the "From-To" pagination
I show the page on which the short heading is to be found and the date that appears there
(for the first four I add a date in square brackets which is presumptive):

The date of this publication is controversial. For a discussion see Sauer. John Gould
The Bird Man. 1982 p.63,64. Sauer puts the date of publication between 23 June 1848 and
1 Dec. 1848, which, in my interpretation, gives a nomenclatural date of 31 Dec. 1848.

Additional notes: The Richmond Index also refers to Hefte. (vol. XIX has Hefte "X").
In addition Richmond has two cards for (for example) Dryobates Boie 1826
one lists
"Isis [von Oken] Bd. XIX, Hefte X" and gives p.977
the next lists
"Isis XXI" and also gives p.977.
This pattern appears to be a "typo".

ref. Kertesz GA. "Notes on Isis Von Oken, 1817-1848" 1986. Isis 77:497-503
Apparently the Journal was initially published weekly, but later 12 issues per year were published.
"The first issue was published in August 1816, but dated 1817." (p.499)
"... in weekly parts 9 though 11, in October 1816, he [Oken] published his first political article." (p.499)
One issue, that reported on the Wartburg Festival in Oct. 1817, was confiscated by the government.
Following this act, the figures on the masthead were changed with the figure of Osiris being replaced
by Isis's son Harpocrates (Horus). The interpretation is that Horus' raised hand is interpreted
to command silence. Additionally, a figure drawn to illustrate a report of Wied-Neiuwied's expedition
to Brasil was redrawn and shown with a padlock through his protruding lips. This appeared as a "vignette"
in several issues later on.
Title:
The initial contract specified that the title would be
"Encyklopädische Blätter"
It appeared in August 1816 as
"Isis oder Encyklopädische Zeitung" (Jg. 1817 - Jg. 1827)
Kertesz maintains that "It was only in 1833 that Isis was given,
on the title page of the monthly issues (though not on the the annual volume),
a new subtitle: "Encyclopedic Journal Especially for Natural History,
Comparative Anatomy, and Physiology."
Hölzinger 1991 "Die Vö Baden-Wüttemburgs Band 7 Bibliographie" p.153
indicates, in contrast, that the title became
"Isis Enzyklopädische Zeitwchrift, vorzüglich fü Naturgeschichte,
vergleichende Anatomie und Physiologie."
in 1827
Apparently there were both monthly and annual title pages.

Bibliographic citations suggest that at least twice (8,9 & 10,11) yearly volumes may have been combined?
Currently the taxa I list have the following association between the year of publication and the "volume" number:
