Type Locality Notes --A

• Todd lists the type locality as "Smith's Island, Virginia"
• Deignan "Type Specimens of Birds in the United States National Museum" p.666 lists "Smith's Island, Northampton County, Virgina".
• The Peters Checklist 13:46 follows this.
• My understanding is the the island is called Smith Island, not Smith's Island. Additionally I note that in his article Todd refers to "Cobb's Island, Virgina", and I presume he means Cobb Island, which is in Maryland.
